what to do at the farm
Our family is thrilled to have you at Valley Ridge Family Farm.
We have opened our farm to your family because we wish to share this incredible blessing with you all. We ask that you book in advance and remember to be respectful of the areas of the farm that are marked private because this is our home.
Summer Camp
DURATION: 8:30am - 3:30pm daily
AVAILABLE: This summer season, we are so excited to welcome children aged 5-9 to join us for a week or all four week of camp. During camp, the kids will: collect eggs, feed animals, explore nature, tend a garden, craft and more.
Farm Tours/Animal Visit
DURATION: 1-3 hours.
AVAILABLE: all season.
This self-guided tour is sure to please the tiniest animal lover! We will provide you with a map and direction. Your group can move through the stations at your own pace. Visit our horses, donkeys, goats, rabbits, ducks, a llama and more! We do have a scavenger hunt, a walking trail and a few more surprises. Our farmers are happy to answer questions and even help you interact closely with a critter or two. Bring a picnic and immerse yourself in the fresh air!
Horse Drawn Wagon Rides
DURATION: 40 mins - allow 1 hour at the farm
AVAILABLE: Summer/Fall, weather permitting
Our covered wagon holds up to 15 people. Your tour covers the perimeter of the property. Sit back and take in the sights and sounds of a working farm from the vantage point of the wagon. Watch for wildlife along the way! Wagon tour routes vary by weather and season. Finish your tour with some time with our Clydesdale horses. Take a selfie or ask us to take a photo for your group. Don’t forget to visit the farm animals!

Off-Farm Opportunity
DURATION: MINIMUM 1 hr

We will come to you! Planning a Wedding, Proposal, Birthday Party or Family Reunion? Want a private carriage ride for date night? Are you looking for horse-drawn wagon rides for your event or transportation for wedding guests? We’d love to help! We can help you with whatever you are envisioning. Packages can be customized to meet your needs at your location or ours.
Note: Routes must be assessed for safety of footing and traffic volume prior to booking.
Photo Opportunity
DURATION: 3 hours
AVAILABLE: Year-round
Are you looking for a unique location for your next photo session? We welcome professional photographers as well as families, bringing their photographer along for a session. Contact us to for help bringing your vision to life!
ANIMAL VISITS/USE not included unless previously discussed.
School Trips
Class trips are available year-round, although certain seasons are better suited to certain trips.
We are happy to customize to meet the needs of your grade-level and come alongside your classroom curriculum.
FARM EXPERIENCE: 4 hour duration
Groom a horse, pet a goat, feed treats to a bunny and meet all the other animals on the farm while you learn about their care and unique needs. Explore the farm with your classmates and complete a nature walk. Take in the farm and forest from the vantage point of a wagon pulled by a team of Clydesdale horses. $19.50 plus HST
ANIMAL ENCOUNTER: 2 hour duration
Learn about all our farm animals, touch them, feed them treats. $13.50 plus HST
Birthday Party
DURATION: 3 hours
AVAILABLE: Winter/Summer
CAPACITY: 12 Children
Explore the farm and meet the other farm animal friends. We have horses, donkeys, sheep, goats, llammas, alpacas, pigs, chickens, rabbits and more.
Hot or cold seasonal beverages provided as well as a free sweatshirt for the birthday child.
1 HR - Get up close and personal with a clydesdale while you groom her, pet a goat, feed treats to a bunny.
1 HR - Take a wagon/sleigh ride (dependant of season) and explore the farm with your friends.
1 HR - Relax around a fire or a table (dependant on weather) for snacks and make memories with your favourite people.
Note: if we cannot run the sleigh or wagon, we will replace this with a personalized horse experience (grooming, photo opportunities etc).
Birthday Party \ Intimate
DURATION: 2 hours
AVAILABLE: Year round
CAPACITY: Minimum of 10 Children - $5/per child.
Explore the farm and meet the other farm animal friends. We have horses, donkeys, sheep, goats, llammas, alpacas, pigs, chickens, rabbits and more.
Hot or cold seasonal beverages provided as well as a free t-shirt for the birthday child.

Join Peak paper Co. and Valley Ridge Family Farm on July 3rd from 11am to 2pm for a creative outdoor workshop where you’ll paint your own set of whimsical watercolour cards inspired by the wildflowers, beloved animals, and natural beauty of the farm.
No watercolour experience needed! Award-winning local artist and author Brittany DeSantis of Peak Paper Co. will guide you step by step as you paint four pre-sketched card designs in a peaceful forest setting. You’ll have time to wander the farm and get inspired before enjoying a curated picnic with refreshments while you paint. Your experience also includes a watercolour palette and paintbrush to take home so you can keep building your creative confidence.
Bring a friend and make a summer day of it! Space is limited and spots are few.
Suitable for ages 12+
Gather your favourite people for an unforgettable afternoon in the garden at Valley Ridge on June 20th at 2pm. Sip ice tea from Blue Mountain Tea Co while you experience a one hour guided candle making workshop in a teacup.
Led by our friend Kat from the Eco-Refillary followed by time to wander the farm, meet the animals, snack and soak up fresh country air.
Suitable for ages 12+
Join Susan from Bending Light Designs at Valley Ridge Family Farm on July 18th from 11am to 3pm to create a stained glass suncatcher inspired by July garden flowers. Enjoy beverages and snacks while you solder your suncatcher under the sun.
All supplies and tools will be provided and you will take home your finished piece.
This class has very limited capacity due to the nature of the activity.
